Every last week in August starts up the Volleyball season. A group of girls hoping to become a part of something bigger than themselves come together. They go through miles of running, and extremely hard workouts. This is all because they want to play the sport they love.

Everybody made it through tryouts! They welcomed 3 new girls on the team, and the team chemistry was already perfect. They had their first pasta party, and every single girl got along so well. They got brand new jerseys, and were ready to start up the season on the best note.
Starting up in September the girls first game was against West Babylon. They had been working so hard, and were ready for everybody to finally see what they are looking like. They won the game! They went on to win their next few games and were 4-0. Finally they had a big game. They had their dedication game for Morgan’s Message against Smithtown West who was also undefeated. The team went down, and didn’t play their best at all. The next few games the girls found themselves again and went on to be 11-1.
The team met Smithtown West later in the season and were prepared to give it their all. The team swept them 3-0 for a good comeback game, and all their hard work was shown.
Then there was senior night. A night filled with many laughs but also many tears. The seven underclassmen stayed after school to decorate the locker room for the nine seniors. All the seniors worked amazing on the court together and ended their senior night with a W!
The girls were placed in the 1 seed, and wanted to show everybody what they were made of. Their first semifinal match was against center reach and they won it 3-1.
The girls never gave up and they continued to practice and wake up early on Halloween, and Halloween weekend. They all gave it there all even though they were so tired. They woke up early on Saturday to do morning workouts the day after Halloween, and they had a few scrimmages the days following.
On Halloween the girls had a costume practice. It was a fun and lighthearted time before they entered counties.
Smithtown East had won their semifinal game against Smithtown West. So now it was Hauppauge VS Smithtown East in the finals. The girls had already played Smithtown East and won. They were ready to show off everything they have worked for in counties.
Counties fell on November 6th. Right after school the girls met up in the gym to get extra reps and then they went on the bus to head to Bay Shore High School for the county game. Going into the first set they were not playing their best and they had lost it. They were ready to fight back and come back in the second set, but their playing was just not there. Overall, the girls lost in the county championship. Although the season is over, the team is still a second family and will forever be best friends.
