Plot/ Story line:

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is an American medical drama that airs on ABC network, first aired in 2005. The series has earned many Emmy Award Nominations, has had top 10 ratings and has won the 2007 Golden Globe award for best drama. The show goes along with the life of the main character, Meredith Grey, played by actress Ellen Pompeo who is the daughter of former surgeon, Ellis Grey, played by Kate Burton who worked in the same hospital, Seattle Grace Hospital,(later known as Seattle Mercy West and then finally The Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The show is based on the personal/ professional lives of the surgeons and their interns. The series shows each character who faces obstacles from the first moment they step into the hospital, as surgical interns, to the moment they become an actual surgeon to then mentoring interns themselves. The doctors in the show are faced with many life-or-death challenges on multiple occasions and with the help of the rest of the hospital backing them up, it makes their job much easier. Grey’s Anatomy was filmed in Los Angeles, California, in Loz Feliz’s Prospect Studios, on the television network American Broadcasting Company (ABC).

Review:

The series, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, in my opinion has one of the best scripts ever written in all the shows I’ve ever watched. I do believe that some of the events that occur in the show are very unrealistic but that covers the humor and entertainment portion of the show. At times, the show is also very emotional and there is a good chance you will cry over some of the episodes but I personally like that because while I’m watching, I like to feel a bunch of emotions not just one or two. Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey’s acting in the series, is phenomenal. She really sells her part and makes everything you watch believable and it makes the audience have a feel for the emotions she is going through. She’s a mom, head chief of general surgery and a wife to Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey, so she does face tons of challenges throughout the show but one thing about her character is that she never gives up and she is so selfless it’s truly incredible. Another main character, Christina Yang played by the actress Sandra Oh, is a great actress. She is Meredith’s best friend and they go by the “twisted sisters” because they tell each other everything and do almost everything together. Their duo is unstoppable in and out of the O.R. Christina Yang is in my opinion one of the funniest characters on the show because she says anything that comes to her mind and she doesn’t care about what other people think about her. My all time favorite quote from the serious is “Don’t let fear keep you quiet. You have a voice so use it. Speak up. Raise your hands. Shout your answers. Make yourself heard. Whatever it takes, just find your voice, and when you do, fill the silence.”- Meredith Grey.
