Who was Liam Payne?
Many people who didn’t know or weren’t interested in One Direction don’t really have any idea who Liam Payne is. Only recently seeing him in the news due to his tragic death. However there are various ways to remember; he had a long lasting legacy. He shouldn’t be known as the member of One Direction that died. Liam Payne was an English singer and songwriter. Yes, for six years of his life he was one of the members of the famous English band One Direction along with Harry Styles, Zayn, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. This boy-band had a few major albums that were widely well known. After the separation of the band he went solo, and in his first few years of his solo career hw was nominated for various awards. He even won the 2018 Teen Choice Award. These are just a few things you should think of when you hear the name Liam Payne.
Becoming apart of 1D
This English boy-band came about through the U.K. show called “The X Factor” during its 2010 season. Each of the members of the band auditioned on their own and were selected by the judges to keep them. Keeping them meant putting together a group to help strengthen their talents. While he did get put into the band One Direction in 2010; he also had auditioned in 2008 before. In 2008 he didn’t get selected, but had luck later on. When he auditioned in 2008 he was only about 15 years old and performed “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra. Simon Cowell was the judge that put these five boys together. The crazy fact is that they didn’t win “The X-Factor” they came in third place.This is how Payne went through the process of starting his career.
Going Solo
In 2016 One Direction broke up. Many of the members didn’t give up and continued their music career. Instead now they were going solo for the first time. His first single solo was “Strip that Down”. It hit the top 10 in Britain during 2017. He released his first solo album during 2019. However this album didn’t make the U.S. Top 100. Another thing about Liam Payne was that he never married. He had several girlfriends, but nothing further from that. Also in the past he had dated one of the judges of “The X-Factor”, Cheryl Cole and even had a son with her. The son’s name is Bear, and he was born in 2017. So while he might not be as well known as some of the others he is still definitely a person to remember.
Tragic Details
A few months ago back in October Payne sadly passed away. He was only 31 years old. For many years he had been struggling with drugs, and was not progressing well. He was not himself anymore, and the drugs had become addicting to him. Showing how large of an effect drugs can have on people, especially those who are celebrities and have a lot on their shoulders. He passed in a similar way to Elvis Presley and Matthew Perry, both of these people dying due to the effects of drugs. During the time of his death he was in Buenos Aires, Argentina and had fallen down about three stories. When brought to the hospital there was no way that they could save him. However now others are being charged for his death. This includes his drug dealer and hotel employee’s where he was staying. Stating that since they saw clearly how he was in a bad way they should have done something. So far three different people have been charged with the death of Liam Payne. The prosecutor stated that the crimes that these three committed is abandonment of a person followed by death. Basically stating that when they saw something was up they should’ve called for help. The other charge being applied includes the supply and facilitation of narcotics. Therefore this tragic death is not going unnoticed, and shouldn’t be the thing to remember Liam Payne for.
