While going through the stages of grief it’s very important to remember it’s a completely normal experience that everyone deals with differently and over different periods of time. Everyone is different and there is no such thing as taking too much time to grieve or move past hard times.
- The first and one of the most challenging steps of overcoming grief is to acknowledge your pain and your suffering. By recognizing what you’re going through you will allow yourself to feel all different types of emotions as a way to cope. It’s important to remember all different types of emotions from anger to even relief can come with overcoming grief.
2. The next step to overcoming grief is to accept it, its hard but important to accept that everybody’s situations and their own coping mechanisms are all different. It’s important to accept the way that you are coping with your emotions and don’t compare your way of overcoming grief to others because everybody grieves differently.
3. The next and most important part of overcoming grief is to ask for help. It’s important to stay close with loved ones whether that’s family or friends. Opening up about your feelings in any way you can will allow you and others to see your situation through a different light and will help you to understand and grow.
4. During this stage of overcoming grief it’s important to find outlets from your mind and your feelings whether that’s through art, exercise and commonly journaling.By allowing yourself to be present in your feelings you will give yourself a sense of connection with your emotions and closure.
5. Finally, one of the most important steps is to focus on doing things you love and not giving up on people you love. Taking care of your emotional health is just as important as taking care of your physical health, which is a great way to focus on yourself through exercise. Reconnecting with things you loved doing will bring back comfort and happiness.
Just remember while going through this hard and long process the most important part is to be kind to yourself and love yourself. Remember everybody’s grieves differently and it will take time.
