Noah Kahan is an American singer who began his career in high school when he performed at open mics and uploaded his music online. He is most famous for album “Stick Season”. This is his third album and references many childhood memories. Kahan has stated that the only one of his songs that he listens to is “Maine” from the collection Cape Elizabeth.
Noah Kahan was born on January 1st 1997, and he is 27 years old. He was born in Strafford, Vermont and currently lives in Watertown, Massachusetts with his fiancée. Kahan went to high school in Hanover, New Jersey. He was accepted to Tulane University after high school, but chose not to go and further develop his music career. Noah’s parents, Lauri Berkenkamp and Josh Kahan, both live in Vermont and helped Noah’s music career grow. Noah’s dad taught him to play guitar at a young age and his mother taught him to write. His parents got divorced in 2020 during COVID-19. During Kahan’s concert in Fenway park, his parents were seen joining him on stage when he performed “Stick Season”. Noah also has a dog named Penny who attends many of his tours with him.
Noah Kahan created “The Busyhead Project”, which is a charity to raise money for organizations that specialize in mental health resources and awareness. The name came from his 2019 debut, Busyhead. Noah and his team created a goal to raise one million dollars and have hit well over this goal. As a child, Kahan dealt with depression and anxiety, and attended therapy. Kahan mentions now how grateful he is for the therapy he went to. Many of his songs reference mental health and he works today to bring awareness to the cause.
