How-to Take the Perfect Picture:
There is always a chance to take a good picture when you are at an event, in nature, or just even sitting around the house. There are various elements that make one picture stand out from others. It also is important to think of things in a different way, and to realize that there are many different angles that would allow you to focus on just one thing. Many people don’t even give taking a picture a thought, instead they just take the picture. It’s important to remember that there are things you can do to make your picture that much better. By knowing what can make a picture come out better it will forever change how your photographs come out with anything. It doesn’t matter where, but these skills will benefit you.
What do you need to prepare you to take a pic?
In order to get the best picture I always look for reflective surfaces like water or mirrors. Water and mirrors give your images more depth. Also it will reflect the surroundings and make it look breathtaking. The secret is to use what’s around you no matter what it is. Think of angles that usually you or another person would never normally take. Get a different perspective that gives viewers something new and unusual to look at. It’s also a big deal to realize that anyone can take a good picture; you don’t have to be a professional. The only thing you need to take the ‘perfect picture’ is your surroundings. By using objects and nature your pictures are promised to come out well. For me I like to get on the ground and put my lens close to the grass or water. I will also go and put the lens close to the edge of a wall to make it look like the picture goes on forever. More importantly when I’m looking to take a picture of people I like to do silhouettes, so I tell the person to do any fun pose that they would like. I feel that the best pictures I have taken are not planned or posed, but instead natural. This is what I would recommend doing when preparing to take a picture.
Tips and Tricks! What the University of Arkansas says
- Understand the rule of thirds (Which states that pictures come out better when they aren’t centered
- Place objects in picture to one side not directly in the center
- Using the grid option on cameras can also help beginners
- Focus on a small area
- Don’t have a busy backdrop. By having a simple background the thing your trying to focus on will become the focal point
- Use a large aperture because it will blur out everything but what your trying to focus on (when doing portraits)
- Small aperture is best to use when taking pictures of landscapes
- If it’s dark watch out if using the flash because it could cause some bad effects to occur. This includes things like making peoples eyes red
- Best to shoot in the early morning or later towards the night.
Ansel Adams- A Well Known Photographer
There have been many photographers throughout time who have used pictures to report what’s happening around the world through photos. Ansel Adams is one of these photographers. He was born on February 20, 1902 in California. He was named the most important American landscape photographer during the 20th century (Britannica). He grew up as a very defiant child and was taken out of school at the age of 12 by his father finally giving up. Adams became a musician and was respected in the art too. He received his first camera at age 14 during 1916 where he proved music is not the only type of art he was talented at. More importantly, during his early 20’s and working at Yosemite National Park he created one of many famous landscape photographs he would complete. Yosemite was his favorite place to take his photos. It became the place where a lot of his greatest and original photographs came from. Even though he was talented in music and photography, as he got older photography became more of a priority to him. As he got older he started to hang out with other photographers and was taught to realize some of the mistakes other photographers were making. In addition, his style was named ‘pure and realistic’. These are just a few things about this great photographer. What he was able to achieve throughout his life is bewildering. So try to take pictures like Adams and see where it takes you, but it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to drop out of school like him.
