Last month on a Saturday in February there was a dog named Aries who ran to her Doggy Daycare to get help after being in a car accident. Aries is a 4-year-old pit bull labrador mix. This event occurred in Michigan where the dog ran to Michigan’s Hounds Town Metro Detroit. The dog is said to have jumped out of the car window and then ran for help. The owner of Aries was very worried for her dog when she ran from the accident. She thought something had happened to the dog, but instead, the dog was running to a place it knew to get help from its owner. When Melissa Fickel, the owner, talked about Aries she said that the dog was a fast learner and extremely smart. However, the accident was not major but a minor car accident. The story is still amazing.

Melissa Fickle, who is 31, says that after the accident Aries looked at her after jumping out the window and then took off running. She had no clue where the dog was going. “As soon as she saw me, she turned and took off,” Fickel stated. Then later on she said, “I was in the middle of the road, and I couldn’t run after her.” She knew her dog was smart and intelligent, but she never thought that after he ran he would be going to find help. After Aries ran off she found herself worrying about the dog tirelessly. Fickle says that after the dog ran off she went looking for her, but couldn’t find Aries. More importantly, due to her great concern for her dog, she called the police. 20 minutes after all this chaos of looking for Aries her dog daycare called and said that Aries had run to them. After receiving this call Fickle says she was so happy to know that Aries was okay she started to cry.

Aries ran to the daycare where she often was to get help from her owner. In an interview with WXYZ, the owner said that Aries is often there. So after the minor accident, Aries ran to her safe place which happens to be her daycare. The owner of the daycare said that when he saw Aries outside the door he was confused to see her all alone, but when hearing about the accident he immediately called Aries owner, Melissa Fickle, to inform her that Aries was ok. The dog ended up staying at the daycare until things calmed down and the owner could come to pick up Aries. In addition, he said that Aries was one of his favorite dogs at the daycare. He also said that Aries was very intelligent and loved to play with the other dogs at the daycare. 

Various other dogs have done similar things in adjacent situations. Back last year there was a dog in Ireland who walked for 26 days to find its owner. Another example of this is in 2020 when a dog was missing and then, later on, went to find its owner at the Walmart she worked at. Based on these amazing responses by dogs like this, studies have been done. Through these studies, it was found that amazing abilities regarding sensory.
