My Experience with baking:
Since the holidays and winter break are near, baking is happening in almost every house. I have been baking for many years including pre-made and from scratch. I used to only bake one specific thing that I was good at which was muffins. I recently started to open myself up to new foods like churros, garlic bread, and garlic knots. These recommendations come from personal experience.
Tip 1:
First off many recipes require self-rising flour however if you use all-purpose flour with around a teaspoon of baking powder it becomes much better, the baking powder makes the muffins or cake more fluffy.
Tip 2:
If you need to bake something but you don’t have the ingredients don’t worry because there are common household items that can easily be replaced. When I was baking muffins I assumed that I had sour cream in the house and had already started baking. I then used yogurt as a substitute which surprisingly had no different effect on the muffins. I also used cilantro instead of parsley in the garlic knots which tasted the same.
Tip 3:
The major key to baking is not even the ingredients but it’s if you do it because you like it and it’s your hobby. You have to have to be motivated to bake and know that it’s alright if it doesn’t come out well.
