Mrs. Kaminski is an English Teacher and The Soaring Eagle Newspaper Advisor at Hauppauge High School. She has been teaching at Hauppauge for the last 11 years. Mrs. Kaminski is honored to be a part of the Hauppauge community and staff.

Her passion is literature, specifically science fiction. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and passion for her discipline with her eager, young, and intrinsically motivated students. Mrs. Kaminski encourages her students to make mistakes. Without mistakes, one would never create anything original.

She has crafted The Soaring Eagle to be the voice of Hauppauge High School’s student body. Regardless of the way technology evolves and changes, there will always be a need for writers and those with the skill to turn a word and voice an opinion. The Soaring Eagle’s purpose is to connect compelling, authentic stories to the Hauppauge student body and community. Each year, Mrs. Kaminski and her staff look for ways to expand the newspaper to share more students’ voices. Over the last two years, the staff has created an Instagram and YouTube page. In addition, her students have expanded the written word to video journalism. She is very proud of her staff’s accomplishments, growth, and passion for The Soaring Eagle.
