Is There Anything More Interesting Than Wizardry? By Kayden Fastag
Everyone should read and see the Harry Potter series at least once in their lifetime. It delivers many different messages and is very suspenseful and will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. It will keep you wanting to read the next chapter or see the next scene in the movie. But most importantly, everyone should read the books BEFORE watching the movies. This is what my mom had me do and even though I hated every second of it because I wanted to watch the movies, it was a better experience since the books came first and then I was able to see what they didn’t put in the movies that the books did have. After reading a book you’ve visualized all of it in your head; you’ve imagined how the characters look and how the setting and backgrounds look. But when you see the movies, it can alter your thinking process of how you thought things would be. And watching Harry Potter go from a book into a movie was really mesmerizing as a kid. I got to see the characters and the castle and all of the wands and magic visualized for me which made the experience 10 times better.
The movies were definitely missing some of the details that were in the books. That part annoyed me because it wasn’t exactly scripted straight from the book. As the movies came out year by year, the special effects and the green screens got a lot more advanced which made the movies even better. The books and movies definitely send out a message in each one about how friends and family and love are the most important things. I got to watch these actors grow up together in the movies, and I got to read about the bonds they made in the books. This series is a 1000% watchable and readable. I do suggest getting into this series, and, in hindsight, I highly recommend reading the books before the movies.
