What if Gen Z Ran the World?

What if Generation Z ran the world? That is a question in which many people have different opinions. We went around the building of HHS and asked multiple students and staff their opinions on it. Many people replied back saying that altogether it is a bad idea. Robert Gennari (10) answered by saying that everyone would heavily rely on their cell phones and that just the thought of it is not good. The majority of the answers we received were more negatively based; people had said there would be fake news posted, everyone would be psychopaths, and it just wouldn’t work.

Contrasting with the negative things we had also received some positive ones. Stevie Rosenfeld (9) had said that the diversity rates and social awareness would both increase. Others had said more important issues would come into focus, literacy rates would increase, climate change would be more taken into account, and contrasting with the majority of the other answers, the world would be more peaceful.

Our opinion on this is that since our generation grew up with a lot of technology, we would be more technologically advanced in the future and we’d adapt better and learn things more quickly. We also believe that since kids in this generation grew up during the Coronavirus pandemic, we’d better be fit for conflicts that arise and know how to deal with problems if they were to happen again. Along with that we also believe that more social issues would become more important and acted on. The world would either become more socially acceptable or become very split and unaccepting. I don’t think Gen Z would be a suitable fit for running the world.
